About Us
The Peninsula Family Justice Council's primary role is to promote an
inter-disciplinary approach to the needs of family justice in Devon and Cornwall.
Through consultation and research, we monitor the effectiveness of the family justice system and advise on reforms necessary for continuous improvement.
What professions form the Peninsula Family Justice Council?
The PFJC contains a network of organisations and people from many different professions including the Judiciary, Lawyers, Resolution,CAFCASS, Social Services, Police, Probation, Paediatricians, Health Professionals, Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Voluntary Organisations, Contact Centres and Mediation agencies.
When was the Family Justice Council established?
Following public consultation in 2002, the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) approved the establishment of the Family Justice Council. A National FJC was set up, supported by a network of 39 Local Family Justice Councils across England and Wales: of which the PFJC is one such council supporting families in Devon and Cornwall.
