Bristol Law School and the Family Law Bar Association (Bristol) are jointly hosting a major conference in Multi-Disciplinary Child Justice. It will cover topic areas such as domestic violence, use of expert witnesses, judicial control of proceedings, and representing parents in care proceedings. This will be of particular interest to those dealing with child issues; especially health and social work professionals, solicitors and barristers.
The conference will be chaired by Baroness Elizabeth Butler-Sloss GBE, PC. She was the first female Lord Justice of Appeal and, until 2004, was President of the Family Division of the High Court. She was the highest ranking female judge in the United Kingdom.
This conference has attracted a number of high profile speakers, from leading practitioners and judges to academics in the field of family law. Speakers include: The Right Honourable Mr Justice Baker; Family Division of the High Court of Justice, HH Judge Barclay, Designated Family Judge Bristol County Court, Professor Judith Masson, University of Bristol, and Susan Jacklin QC, St John's Chambers, Bristol.
