On Tuesday the 25th November 2008 the Peninsula Family Justice Council Forum held an Evening Symposium Chaired by His Hon. Judge David Tyzack QC with an address by the President of the Family Division, Sir Mark Potter titled ‘Developments in Family Law - the National Perspective'.
The evening was attended by 100+ professionals from across the region.
The President gave an excellent presentation and his willingness to attend and contribute towards the PFJC symposium was a great encouragement to all.
The President's speech was followed by the launch of the Peninsula Family Justice Council website by Norman Hartnell: and a Presentation by experienced adult child and family psychologists Paul O'Reilly and Harry Temple of Devon Family Solutions Ltd called "I'm a parent/partner - get me out of this emotional jungle!"
In this part of the symposium Harry and Paul explored the origins of such distress; the impact on the adults concerned and their children; how their difficulties obstruct the path to resolution and how the psychologists help the clients chart their own way out of the morass.
