Social Work Taskforce Regional Events to listen to and learn from the front line

The Social Work Taskforce has been set up by the Children's Secretary, Ed Balls, and the Health Secretary, Alan Johnson, to undertake a comprehensive review of frontline social work practice.
It has been asked to identify any barriers social workers face in doing their jobs effectively and has been asked to make recommendations for improvements and long-term reform in social work. As part of this, they have set up a series of regional events so the Social Work Taskforce can listen to and learn from front line social workers. As part of this, the South West Taskforce are setting up a series of regional events they can listen to and learn from the front line. They would like to attract frontline social workers at different stages in their career, from newly qualified to active and recently retired social workers. Supervisors and employers (including Heads of Service from LAs and the Voluntary Sector) are also welcome to attend.
Please join them at one of their events to share your insights about the challenges for social work and the key issues that the Taskforce needs address.
