Administrative updates

You might be interested in the following administrative updates:

  • Funding - it has now been agreed that the transfer of funding for conferences and training events from the Regional Directors to the national FJC will take place at the start of the next financial year, FY 2010/11.  You should therefore continue with your usual practices to pay for events for the remainder of this financial year.  Regional Directors will be informed that this money will remain in their budgets until Mar 2010.
  • CPD - the Bar Standards Board sub-committee is meeting today and will consider our application to be a sole provider of CPD on behalf of the LFJCs.  They will also consider our application for a waiver of some of the fees involved.  We therefore hope to bring you news of their decision soon.
  • Websites - so far, we have heard from only 19 LFJCs.  Five are interested in the proposals, five are not and the others are undecided.  Plans are on hold at the moment as some concerns have been raised regarding tendering and security issues. Once these have been resolved I will be in touch about the way forward.
