Social Work Taskforce Regional Events to listen to and learn from the front line

The Social Work Taskforce has been set up by the Children's Secretary, Ed Balls, and the Health Secretary, Alan Johnson, to undertake a comprehensive review of frontline social work practice.

Court Orders for disclosure of information held by police

In order to improve the response by Devon & Cornwall Constabulary to requests by
way of court orders for disclosure of information in civil/family court proceedings a
dedicated unit has been opened to deal with these requests.

Outcomes of applications to court for contact orders after parental separation or divorce

When divorced or separated parents cannot agree on contact arrangements for their children and come to court, the court must make a decision under the Children Act 1989 and give paramount consideration to the welfare of the child.
